Walk-in showers
A shower is a waterproofing project with tile on top
Every failed shower we tear out failed the same way: the waterproofing was wrong, or absent. Tile and grout are not waterproof — they are the wear surface. What keeps water out of your framing is the membrane behind them, the corners, the drain flange connection and the transition at the curb or threshold.
So we build in that order. Cement board or foam backer, bonded sheet or liquid membrane carried up the walls and into the pan, pre-slope set to the drain, corners and penetrations detailed, then a flood test held overnight. Only after the test holds does tile go on.
From there it is design: large-format porcelain that reduces grout lines, a recessed niche sized to your bottles rather than a plastic caddy, a bench if you want one, and a frameless panel or door. Curbless entries are possible in most homes — we will confirm after looking at your floor structure.
