Tile, not a liner

Tub-to-Shower Conversions in Baton Rouge

We remove the tub, rebuild the plumbing and waterproof the pan properly, then tile it. No liner dropped over the old surround in a day.

Tub to shower

Why the one-day version costs you later

The franchise pitch is a one-day conversion: an acrylic or composite liner set over the existing base and surround, sealed at the edges. It looks fine on day one. What it does not do is fix what is behind it — and in a house where the tub is being removed because of water damage, behind it is exactly the problem.

We do it as a small remodel. Tub out, old surround out, plumbing moved for a shower valve at the right height, floor framing checked for rot, then a proper waterproofing system — either a bonded sheet membrane or liquid-applied over cement board — flood-tested before a single tile goes on. That test is the difference between a shower that lasts twenty years and one that quietly rots the joists.

Most conversions run one to two weeks and cost meaningfully less than a full bathroom remodel, because the vanity, toilet and flooring usually stay. If the bathroom is your only one, we sequence the work so you have a usable toilet and sink for all but a day or two.

Good reasons to convert

A conversion makes sense when

  • Nobody in the house has used the tub in years
  • Stepping over a tub wall has become a fall risk
  • The surround is cracked, stained or leaking
  • You have another tub elsewhere in the house
  • You want a curbless or low-threshold entry for ageing in place
  • The bathroom is small and the tub eats the floor space

Our process

How the work actually goes

  1. 1

    In-home walk-through

We measure, look at what is behind the wall where we can, and price it fixed.

  2. 2

    Selections

Tile, glass, valve and fixtures chosen before demolition starts, so nothing stalls.

  3. 3

    Demolition and rough-in

Tub out, plumbing moved, framing repaired, inspection if required.

  4. 4

    Waterproof, tile, finish

Membrane and flood test, tile, grout, glass, then a walk-through with you.

Financing

A new roof is a monthly number, not a lump sum

Most homeowners replace a roof once. Paying for it in one go is the part that stalls the decision, so we quote the monthly figure alongside the total and let you decide which one you're solving for.

Rates and terms come from our lending partner, we publish the real numbers once you've seen the estimate, never a teaser rate.

Typical replacement

$180–$320/mo

The wedge

Doing the whole bathroom instead?

If the vanity, toilet and floor are also tired, a full remodel is usually better value than converting now and redoing it in three years.
